This morning I measured the elevator deflection
in the limited up position as shown below. There is unlimited down
deflection capability due to the low hinge line location that I
used. Specifically for those of you who have built and flown an R/C
Assist Comet Sailplane, is a deflection of 18 degrees for a two-sided
elevator enough for control and maneuvering? I have heard that the Sailplane
is sensitive to its elevator deflection. I can actually get more up
deflection if required by doing more shaping to the top of the elevator's
leading edges. Any feed back would be appreciated.....................Tandy
